Our EPC4 is our exclusive version of the excellent EPC by Forward Controls Design. The EPC4 is one of the featured components of our signature upper receiver assemblies (coming 2022) where we have Redacted Concepts cerakoting our upper receiver groups to provide both a uniform finish across multiple manufactures and materials, and reduce the IR reflectivity of our upper receiver groups.
We are now offering our EPC4 in the previously restricted "Gen 2" HIR Cerakote finishes. These coatings were specifically engineered to reduce the rifles signature under IR illumination when view through night vision. These coatings are an option, so please read the descriptions carefully for which version you select, we have two different black versions currently.
Be sure to watch the video on just how effective these coating are.
We're offering these as stand alone components now, while a number of the custom components in our signature upper receivers are pending final development and delivery. Our EPC4 features the latest enhancements made to the EPC (as of December 2021) and is identical to the EPC in materials, tolerances, and construction. Only the applied finish and logos are different on our EPC4
Billet machined from 7075 aluminum.
EPC4 has two "tabs" flanking
the cutout for the port cover spring. These tabs allow the EPC4 to rest
on the upper at a greater angle when it's in the down/open position,
which provides more space between the port cover and lower receiver.
Their job is to better allow the user's finger to get underneath the
port cover when they wish to swing it up/close.
Left: TDP ejection port cover. Right: EPC. Both in the down/open position. Please
note that depending on the upper receiver, the area below the ejection
port cover will vary in thickness, which affects the angle of the EPC
when the port cover is open/down.
Another feature is the set of two shallow circular depression on the side of the
EPC4 to provide texture tactile feedback to the user's finger when closing the EPC4. A flat surface provides nothing to the user to
differentiate one surface from another, it also provides no traction. A
shallow circular depression on the left side of the EPC4 does both.
EPC4 is compatible with TDP spec upper receivers.
Weight: 0.30oz.
Proudly designed and made in the USA.
Includes a TDP spec spring, C-Clip, and rod for assembly
NOTE:
Initial closing and opening of EPC4 may be stiff, this is normal, and will become easier with a few closing/opening cycles.
