The Tapered, Heavy, Improved 13.95" barrel is our first barrel, made to our own exacting specifications.
The Tapered profile moved the balance point to the rear (versus traditional profiles) reducing the "front heavy" feeling that most barrels feel like once commonly used accessories are added to your firearm (lights, suppressors, etc).  By added material towards the rear, the THI barrels are stiffer than normal, and better at managing the increased heat generated by high volume suppressed use.  This added stiffness reduces the shift in zero between suppressed and non-suppressed use versus lighter weight profiles, as well.

As this profile is heavier than normal, with a nominal weight of 1lb 14oz, it's also MARYLAND LEGAL, and is H marked right on the barrel to comply with MD state regulations.

An improved part of this profile includes an extended .750" diameter gas journal, dimpled for secure low profile gas block installation, but also long enough for a traditional FSB to be installed.

Each barrel is individually inspected by us here, as well as by our OEM at multiple points during the manufacturing process.   This barrel will exceed 16" in length with any of the following muzzle devices once pinned and welded:
SOLGW NOX, NOX-9, NOX Two Chamber Brake, NOX no-mount
Surefire Warcomp Flash Hider (open tine)
Dead Air Flash Hider
Expo Arms KeyMo Muzzle Brake
Cobalt Kinetics RCB-KM
Noveske KX3, KX5
BE Meyers 249F
(as well as several others with shims added.)

Really good stuff
200rds in bench shooting off a bag with just a dot seeing about 2moa with 62 grain 556 and about 1.5-1 with 55gr .223 brass and. Running with a vltor gasblock, solgw tube, cmt bolt, cmt drt 13in handguard and a5 tube with a5h2 with a larue trigger. Seeing perfect ejection with the full 556 and slightly undergassed with the 223 but no malfunctions. The balance is great very close to a 16 in criterion core and way better than an 11.5 govt. Can't wait to get a supressor on it
